Directed by Amir Mehran, the eight-minute animation narrates the story of a war veteran who is trying to find the bodies of his soldier friends.
The man lost his fellow comrades during the war. Even though years have passed since the war ended, he is still searching for the location where he believes they were lost.
The short animated piece is a joint production of the director and Iran’s Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC).
The crew includes character designer Abolfazl Boroumandi, set designer Naeem Azad, animator Jalal Naeemi, and storyboard creator Ammar Qanbarzadeh.
The short animation participated in the 2020 Warsaw Film Festival in Poland and won the best short animation award.
The RIFF hosts a wide range of works from around the world and provides an opportunity for filmmakers, screenwriters, and many experts to exchange experience.
The event is slated for July 1-25, 2021.
